POINTE A PITRE, AT NIGHT

Experience a night trip through the streets of the former splendor of the French colonies.

As a city of art and history full of treasures, Pointe à Pitre has many assets such as its magnificent colonial residences, its typically Creole wooden houses, its museums and its markets.

However, the rich and bubbling daily activity gives way to a completely different spectacle since nightfall,  transforming the spans of “la pwent” into a sometimes frightening territory.

Left to abandon by the republic, the city survives on the rhythm of activities most often illegals. Empty streets, old disintegrating buildings, tags drawn on the walls, street lights covered with luxuriant vegetation.

In spite of everything, the old city subtly distils its hypnotic magnetism and remains terribly attractive. The warmth of the moist nights promises you an exotic journey that you will remember.

Enjoy the ride…
